Black Medium is a documentary that explores the deeply personal and often inherited nature of spirituality—how we come to understand the world, connect with the divine, and express our faith. For many, spiritual beliefs are passed down, shaped by tradition and culture. But what happens when we step outside of what we’ve been taught and begin to seek our own truths?

Created by Britany Hill-Whitehead and filmed by StudioRa, Black Medium follows the journeys of seven Black mediums who, while rooted in different religious backgrounds, share common spiritual practices. Through their stories, the film challenges assumptions, reclaims ancestral wisdom, and opens a window into a powerful tradition of Black spiritual expression.
